Nexus Prime and Android 4.0 Patent War

Today is the start of CTIA and Samsung Unpacked. Where the Nexus Prime was going to be reviled with the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

And to the tech worlds appointment's the event was postponed but it was for a good reason and every one can understand how it would not be a good idea to launch a product so soon after Steve Jobs passing. “both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product”. Even a Google exec stated “We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing”.

But now it seams to be a little bit deeper then that, it seams like Google and Apple have a slight underground patent war going on according to Eldar Murtazin, a former Nokia insider. although he has been spot on with Nokia information, he has been a little shaky about Apple info, as well their is no source or reference link so this could just be misleading information.

Google has done some changes to Android like in 2.3.5 changes where they had to change the code of the scrolling mechanism due to patent infringement, also Apple has gone after Samsung for TouchWiz for everything down to the angle of the phone icon.

Hopefully we will see this product come October 27th at another Samsung event.

Update: The Samsung Galaxy S II was honoured at the T3 Gadget Awards in the UK today by becoming the “Phone of the Year”. After Samsung UK’s Sales Director Andrew Glass confirmed the market name of the upcoming Nexus. Glass said that “You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think”
